Help Paying Your Bill

As part of our mission and commitment to the community, Foothills Regional Medical Center is committed to providing quality healthcare that is affordable for our community. All of our patients are treated with dignity, compassion, and respect.  This includes providing services without charge, or at significantly discounted prices, to eligible patients who cannot afford to pay for care as provided by our financial assistance policy. 

Financial Assistance Programs 

Our Financial Assistance Program provides financial assistance to help qualified patients pay for healthcare based on their financial need. This includes emergency, urgent, or medically necessary care. Patients who qualify get some or all of their costs covered.  

Who May Qualify? 

Eligibility is based on factors such as: 

  • Household income
  • Family size
  • Federal Poverty Guidelines 

Patients whose income falls within the program guidelines may qualify for free or discounted care. Contact our Patient Financial Services department for current eligibility requirements.  

Financial Assistance Programs Offered 

Charity Care  

Patients may be eligible for Charity Care if their household income is no more than 250% of the Federal Poverty Level based on family size. 

Discount Payment Program  

Patients may be eligible to qualify for discounted charges for medically necessary hospital services if household income is too high to qualify for free charity care but is at or below 400% of the Federal Poverty Level.  

How to Apply

Applying is simple: 

  • Complete a Financial Assistance Application. 
  • Submit any required documentation to verify your financial situation.
  • Return the completed application and supporting documents to Patient Financial Services. 

Applications may be submitted in person or by mail.

Hospital Bill Complaint Program

The Hospital Bill Complaint Program is a state program that reviews hospital decisions about whether you qualify for help paying your hospital bill. If you believe you were wrongly denied financial assistance, you may file a complaint with the Hospital Bill Complaint Program.
