The antimicrobial stewardship program (ASP) at Alta Hospitals (Foothill Regional Medical Center, Southern California Hospitals at Culver City, Hollywood and Van Nuys; and Los Angeles Community Hospitals at LA, Norwalk and Bellflower) will be highlighted at the 2022 Vizient Connections Summit this month. Vizient is a community hospital healthcare improvement company.

“Vizient selected our ASP program to be recognized for clinical programs that have taken a unique approach and produced real life results,” said Alta Chief Pharmacy Officer Sehjan Bhura, PharmD. “In a matter of a few short years, our program has truly optimized the care our patients receive and achieved a Silver Level designation from the California Department of Public Health.”

Bhura continued, “I wanted to give all the pharmacy leaders, pharmacists, infectious disease physicians, infection preventionists, hospital leadership and, specifically, ID Pharmacist Cindy Hsieh, who have made our ASP program what it is today. ‘Thank you!’ The program could not have achieved the results without everyone’s diligent hard work through all the documentation, interventions, and support.”
